Quiver App & Website

Quiver is a marketplace that allows users to buy and sell surfboards, snowboards, and skis in an easy and sustainable way. The process of creating surfboards is incredibly toxic to the environment, but demand is higher than ever after the pandemic. By creating a space for users to swap boards, we can all cut down on the production of new surfboards. Use Quiver to give your boards a second life and continue the ride!

As a frequent surfer, I noticed that there are many sites you can use to buy and sell surfboards, but none of them specialize in this area. This makes the process clunky and difficult. Combine this with the environmental impact of shaping boards, and I knew I needed to create a solution. These elements led to the creation of Quiver.

PROGRESS

Quiver was a chance for me to delve further into UI/UX design and explore Figma. I knew that I wanted to create a place where it was just as easy for users to buy boards as well as list and sell new ones. This began with sketching wire frames and transferring them to Figma.

THE FINAL PRODUCT

Quiver wasn’t all about design. Along with UI/UX design comes a lot of research. This involved heavy usage of other marketplace apps to find what features were useful for users, and what could be left out. I used this research to make the buying and selling process as seamless as possible for new and existing users. Quiver allows users to find new shops and follow the ones they like. It’s also easy to see user reviews and see who you should buy from.

In the end, this project allowed to gain a lot more experience with UI/UX design, and expand my skills in Figma. I felt really passionate about this project because it combined two of my passions, surfing and sustainability.
